Take time to do things mindfully. Stay focused in the present moment, especially in activities and gestures that you repeat daily, such as brushing your teeth in the morning, preparing breakfast, opening the front door etc. Try to focus on the act, the process, no matter how simple and habitual it is. Experience it fully without rushing with the thought of the next task to be done or the afternoon meeting with your manager. If you are brushing your teeth pay attention to the sound of the bristles on your tooth enamel, the smell of the toothpaste, the feeling of freshness after you have finished etc. This may seem easy, but you will soon realise how difficult it is to keep your attention and focus on one activity at a time and how your brain always tends to wander elsewhere. This exercise, repeated over and over again, will help you develop your attention and focus and fully experience every moment.
